The third Sunday Session on 15 August 2010 was bright, warm and sunny with a light breeze that kept us all cool .. but made a lot of noise on the video .... ah well! We had a full house for the open mic and all good acts which made it very hard for the judges! Starting with George Ides, a local semi-professional singer with a rich and emotive voice who was followed by duo Henry and Rop known as Donush who played some cool original songs. Next up were another duo That Blue Patch (Ruth and Dave) who performed some great blues. Locals to the Fox Pub recognised Craig who did a mix of original and cover songs followed by the wonderful voice of Lucy Orme singing accapella jazz. All three of the latter went through to the final.

Regulars Alan and Mark Harris who had both already got through to the open mic final, got up to do a couple of songs each before the main band Stony Pony : Dan Sweeney (bass/vox), Niol Sweeney (drums/vox), Damien O'Brian (vox/guitar), Tomas (lead guitar) plus guest artists Mehmet Raif (bass/guitar), Kevin Kelly (vox), Mike Turnbull (guitar).

Regular band member Noel (lead guitar), was absent this year .. spending his time recording in Australia.. lucky guy!! He wasn't missed though .. oh no .. his stand in Tomas (lead guitar) is an equally superb guitarist who kept us clapping with his great solo's and solid playing. Dan, Damien and Niol were all as excellent as ever - not many bands can boast that all their members sing as well as play! Taking turns to sing lead and back each other with harmonies made the set swing along with their great musicianship and friendly banter with the audience, the day flew by!

Set list included: Alright Now (Free), I Won't Back Down (Tom Petty), 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover (Paul Simon), Chasing Cars (Snow Patrol), Freebird (Lynyrd Skynyrd), Suspicious Minds (Elvis Presley), You Really Got Me (The Kinks), Very Superstitious (Stevie Wonder), Learning To Fly (Tom Petty), Roadhouse Blues (The Doors), You Can't Always Get What You Want (Rolling Stones), Copperhead Road (Steve Earle), I Want To Break (Queen), Back In Black (AC/DC), Jailhouse Rock (Elvis Presley), Your Sex Is On Fire (Kings of Leon), Whole Lotta Love (Led Zeppelin), Proud Mary (Ike & Tina Turner), Chelsea Dagger (Fratellis), Wonderwall (Oasis), G.L.O.R.I.A (Them), Rocking All Over The World (Status Quo), Use Somebody (Kings Of Leon), Don't Look Back In Anger (Oasis).

The band were joined by Kevin Kelly (vox) for Mary Jane's Last Dance (Tom Petty), and Mehmet Raif (guitar) for Born In The USA (Bruce Springsteen)

The lads were in fine form, which was just as well considering their support band failed to appear, but the music carried on in the break thanks to audience member John Bland who got up to perform a few songs accappella! It was a great day packed with sun, friends and great music .. what more could you want on a Sunday afternoon in August!
