The Electric Blues Club will be organising music on Sunday afternoons at Broomfield Park in conjunction with Enfield Council. Each week will have a different 'vibe', Pop/Soul, Traditional New Orleans Jazz, Folk, Rock and Blues. Forget the Sunday roast in August! Bring a picnic and join us for some great live music throughout the afternoon at the Bandstand and help to support local musicians and local charities.
This year we are supporting the Ruth Winston Centre, a local charity based in Palmers Green who promote independence, well-being and activities for the over 50s in Enfield and are awaiting confirmation for attendance from another charity for the last two Sunday events.
Oh and we also suggest bringing along something to sit on and a brolly ... just in case the grass is damp and the rain decides to fall!!
Want to appear in the park? Get exposure for your act? Solo and duo singers and musicians are invited to bring an ACOUSTIC instrument or backing track on CD or MP3 player (ready in order of play please!!!) if they would like to get up and perform in the Open Mic.
Please do NOT bring AMPS or request to plug in to one of the bands amps unless you know the musicians personally!! We do not provide amplification for electric guitars, keyboards etc., and only have two microphones for the open mic!
For further information contact Electric Blues Club via the contact form or to participate, turn up on the day by 12.30 to put your name down. (Note that we will NOT pre-book slots).
Help us to advertise these events by downloading and printing off Poster or Flyers (please do not put up our posters on public lamp posts, railings, billboards etc., always ask permission of the household or store owner first!
See Sunday Sessions 2006, Sunday Sessions 2007 or Sunday Sessions 2008 and Sunday Sessions 2009 for write up and photos of previous years events. (2010 review and photos available soon.)

This years Sunday Sessions will be promoting awareness of the Ruth Winston Centre who were so supportive of our fight to save the funding for the live music concerts in the park plus in memory of my fathers recent passing the Multiple Sclorosis & Parkinsons Disease Societies - not sure if a member of the latters volunteers can attend but would ask you to please support these charities by telling friends about their cause, placing a link on your website or social networking page and/or making a donation directly to one of their websites:

I would also like to take this opportunity to say a very big Thank You to the MS nurse Vikki Lester, the Helping Hands carers and all the doctors and nurses who went the extra mile to make sure my dad had the help and support he needed during his long battle.
Bear Cat Crawlers traditional New Orleans Jazz band were formed by local club member, musician and music teacher Robbie Martin. His group of fellow musicians work as a collective with various members coming together to perform when required. Their professionalism and years of experience enable them to pick up and play with practically anyone, anywhere, anytime.
This year line up includes Robbie Martin on Clarinet, Johnny Jeanne on Trombone, Tony Pitt on Banjo, Winnie Lodge on Double Bass, Alan Gresty on Cornet and Chris Marchant on Drums.
The Lester Clayton Band This local band have built up a good reputation for their original London Soul songs with great funky rhythms and strong thoughtful lyrics. Their appearance at the park is a first although some are sure to have seen them at local venues or supporting ED SHEERAN during the summer when they also have a new album release. Band members include Lester Clayton (guitar and vocals), Mehmet Raif (bass guitar), Wolfe Hogan (Violin), and 'Big Daddy' Steve - Percussion/Drums. They will be supported by the Dave Tither Band and Ryan Keen.
Temper Diablo North Londons favourite original classic rock band is here to to a headline performance following their recent album Comfort In Violence and subsequent tour. The band comprises of Miah Brennan (vocals/guitars/keyboards), Niol Sweeney (drums/percussion/vocals), Micky Hegarty (bass/vocals), and Noel Martin (guitars/vocals). They will be supported by fellow original rock n roll band Dixie (Adam Askew - Vocals, Noel Askew - Guitar, Noël Martin - Guitar, Dave - Bass, Ali Kember - Drums), plus the blues rocking duo Alan & Paul.
RoXi & the Blue Cats will be performing their own mixture of blues/rock/country/jazz original material from their new album of the same name along with cover songs by some of the great blues artists.
Fronting the band is dynamic vocalist Roxi (winner of the Greenwich Talent Show televised on ITV 6 '0' Clock Show judged by Jools Holland), produced and presented RoXi's New Band Show and Through The Night Show on Town FM, has subsequently appeared on Radio, TV and venues throughout the UK, Europe and the USA as a solo artist and front woman for a variety of covers and original bands including Blulix & Don't Panic. Her powerful, versatile range and emotive, raunchy style has been likened to such artists as Janis Joplin, Etta James and Stevie Nicks. From the gruff growl sliding into mellow sexy tones through to stratospheric notes, Roxi is an energetic and emotive performer who keeps the audience enthralled.
The Blue Cats line up this year includes exquisitely brilliant ex U-Boat bass player Philip Plant (also played on Man Who Fell To Earth film soundtrack and with Red Buddha Theatre), Rick Moxon on rhythm guitar, equisite playing from guitar teacher Martin Ellins on Lead Guitar and joining them on drums is well respected local drummer Brian Johnson who has worked with everyone from Big Bands to major artists.
RoXi & the Blue Cats will be supported by popular local acoustic folk/contemporary singer/songwriter and guitar teacher Jim Dawson and his musical partner Lou on percussion who regularly provide entertainment to audiences at Folk Festivals, venues and for 'Music in Hospitals' and HM Prisons throughout the UK.
