Electric Blues Club: Sunday Sessions at Broomfield Park

Despite all predictions of rain it was a beautiful warm day for our final Sunday Session at Broomfield Park on 3rd Sept 2006 although the breeze through the bandstand meant everything not firmly held down blew over!!

The audience started arriving early and were well organised with chairs and picnics at the ready to enjoy the afternoon. Starting off this week was acoustic singer/songwriter Jim Dawson whose warm and friendly manner soon had everyone singing along to a mixture of original songs and popular cover tunes.

After a short break, Roxi & The Blue Cats took the stage to provide us with a stompingly good blues set but the track everyone was talking about was their memorable rendition of Ball & Chain. After taking a short break, the jam began with Chris who performed a solo number and was then joined by Jim and Stuart from the Blue Cats. Up next came Lorraine on vocals, Mike on Guitar and club member Les on Bass Guitar who performed Summertime and a couple of blues standards with Stuart and Steve before The Blue Cats played the last song of the day.

Apologies to the jammers for the lack of piccies but Jane who kindly took photo's on my digital camera took so many of the band that the memory was full before the Cats got off stage!!
