It was a glorious sunny afternoon for the Sunday Sessions at Broomfield Park this weekend. The crowd gathered at the bandstand to listen to some great Jazz played by the Telephone Stompers whose line up included local club member, musician and music teacher Robbie Martin on Clarinet, Mike Wilkinson on Double Bass, Rick Ross on Drums, John Lawrence on Trumpet, Johnny Jeanes on Trombone and Nick Singer on Banjo.

Their set of mainly traditional jazz numbers included a range of instrumentals as well as favourites like 'Bill Bailey' and 'St Louis Blues' with band members sharing the vocals and taking turns to do some excellent solo's during the day before being joined by the vibrant Winnie Lodge on Keyboards/Electric Piano.

The Telephone Stompers were very well received by the crowd who brought along seating and settled down for the afternoon with their picnics! A very popular choice as we had lots of enquiries from the audience about their forthcoming gigs, so by popular demand we have booked them to appear again next year!

A mention has to go to a couple of ladies who stopped during their walk to watch on the 13th August and have returned every week to dance along to the music - keep on bopping ladies!!
